CBCT scanning
in Halifax

Our CBCT scanner is an advanced 3D X-ray technology that provides a more comprehensive range of information than is possible with traditional 2D X-rays.

What are the benefits of CBCT scanning?

  • CBCT scans show soft tissue and airways as well as bone
  • They create a comprehensive 3D image instead of a flat 2D one
  • They give an improved overall view of your mouth, jaw, nose and throat
  • CBCT scans only use a very small amount of radiation

CBCT scan technology

The image created by your CBCT (cone-beam computed tomography) scan will allow your dentist to make finely tuned decisions about your treatment. For example, if you were preparing for a dental implant, your dentist would be able to check in detail the stability of the surrounding area.

During your CBCT scan

A CBCT scan only takes about two minutes, and is a completely painless procedure. Your dentist will ask you to sit still in a chair, and may offer you something to support your head if necessary. As the imaging machine rotates slowly around your head, you won’t even notice it scanning over 150 pictures.
